TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course
TNCC was created in 1986 as the standard of practice for providing trauma nursing care to patients who have sustained injuries induced by all mechanisms. Injuries induced by all mechanism, including motor vehicle crashes, suicides, homicides and poisonings continue to vacillate between being the third and fourth leading cause of death in the United States. In Alaska, the major causes of death are suicide,, poisonings, assaults, motor vehicle crashes, drowning and airplane accidents. TNCC rolled out its 6th edition in 2007 and is currently working on the 7th edition. TNCC is available in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, The Netherlands, Sweden and Hong Kong.
